Training Camp Begins March 12th

Prairie Village, KS – With one week left before the first Training Camp in FC Kansas City history opens up, the team announced today the signing of two players, Erika Tymrak, the team’s second selection in the College Draft, and Bianca Henninger, the second selection from the team’s Supplemental Draft class.  Per league and team policy, terms of the contracts are not disclosed.

“We’re looking forward to having these great young players,” said head coach Vlatko Andonovski as he looks forward to opening training camp next week. “Erika (Tymrak) and Bianca (Henninger) will fit right in with the quality talent we’ve already assembled.”

“These two are players we targeted in each of the drafts and we couldn’t be more excited to have them be a part of the first FC Kansas City team,” remarked team president, Brian Budzinski. “I think people are going to be excited about the team our technical staff puts on the pitch.”

ERIKA TYMRAK

Erika Tymrak, midfielder and U-23 National Team pool player, has snagged numerous awards in her time at the University of Florida such as two-time NSCAA First Team All-America, three-time All-SEC First Team, NSCAA All-South Region first team, Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Year, All-SEC first team selection, SEC Tournament MVP, Soccer America MVP first team selection, MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist and among candidates for Senior CLASS Award.  Erika appeared in 22 matches with 21 starts.  Tymrak is Florida’s leader with goals (9), assists (12) and points (30).  She is tied for third on Gators’ career charts in assists (40).

 

Bianca Henninger
Position: Goalkeeper
Height: 5’6”
Hometown: Los Gatos, CA
Birthdate: 10/22/1990

Henninger started all five matches for the U.S. Women’s U20 National Team in the 2024 CONCACAF Championships, allowing just two goals.  She was also named the 2024 U.S. Soccer Young Female Athlete of the Year.  At Santa Clara University she was named 2024 1st team All-ACC and 3rd team All-American.  In her senior season she started 18 games, appeared in 19 and had a 0.73 goals against average.

 

FC Kansas City opens training camp next week with player meetings and testing on Monday March 11th, with full-field sessions beginning on March 12th.  A schedule of all training sessions, including sessions open to the public, will be made available at a later time.  Erika Tymrak will be making a special appearance at the Missouri Comets playoff game this Thursday, March 7th at 7:35pm at the Independence Events Center.  Tickets for the Comets and FC Kansas City games can be purchased by calling 855.4KC.GOAL (855.452.4625).
