PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kan (December 5, 2024) FC Kansas City announced today the team has acquired forward Liz Bogus and the No. 17 overall selection in the 2024 National Women’s Soccer League College Draft. In exchange, the Seattle Reign FC received the No. 15 overall pick in the 2024 NWSL College Draft and FC Kansas City’s third-round draft choice in the 2024 College Draft.

Liz-Bogus_1_webBogus, 29, was Seattle’s fourth-round selection in the 2024 NWSL Supplemental Draft and made 20 appearances (11 starts) last season for Reign FC. She finished the 2024 season with one goal and two assists.

“Liz (Bogus) provides us with tactical flexibility that we haven’t had before,” FC Kansas City technical director Huw Williams said. “We love the tenacity, aggressiveness and determination she shows every time she steps on the field.”

Bogus started making a name for herself at Arizona State University in 2024. She was named Pac-10 Freshman of the Year and would finish her college career with 80 points.

“Kansas City is a very good team and I love their style of play,” said Bogus when talking about her move to the midwest. “I am very excited to get out there and play.”

Bogus started her professional career with the Los Angeles Sol of the Women’s Professional Soccer league, making seven appearances in 2024. From there, Bogus went to the Boston Breakers, where she tallied three goals in 22 games over two seasons from 2024-2011.
