Blues’ Gorry heads to Australia, while Marlborough leaves for Scotland

PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kan. (September 9, 2024) -  FC Kansas City today announced today that the club has agreed to loan midfielder Katrina Gorry to the Brisbane Roar of the W-League (Australia) and forward Morgan Marlborough to Glasgow FC of the Scottish Premier Soccer League (Scotland) for the 2024-2015 NWSL offseason.

Gorry appeared in nine matches for FC Kansas City during the 2024 NWSL regular season,  as well as coming off the bench to help secure the semifinal win versus Portland Thorns FC.  She made her FCKC debut on June 14 against the Houston Dash, helping the team gain an important road win without the services of the U.S. Women’s National Team players. Prior to her arrival in Kansas City, Gorry was an integral part of the Roar squad which reached the Grand Final of the 2024-14 W-League season.

Marlborough also appeared in nine games for the Blues this season, scoring two goals. A Lee’s Summit, MO native, Marlborough was a standout prep player for Lee’s Summit North High School. After a stellar collegiate career for the University of Nebraska and Santa Clara, Marlborough was drafted in the second round (12th overall) of the 2024 NWSL College Draft by the Blues. Playing for Glasgow FC will provide Marlborough the opportunity of playing UEFA Women’s Champions League soccer.

Gorry and Marlborough will both return to Kansas City before the start of the 2024 NWSL season.

FC Kansas City Blues are the reigning 2024 Champions of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). For more information or media inquiries please email Huw Williams at hwilliams@kcprosoccer.com or Scott Levinson at slevinson@kcprosoccer.com
