Amy Rodriguez, Heather O’Reilly, Lauren Holiday, Becky Sauerbrunn, Hope Solo and Megan Rapinoe will play their last game for their club before leaving to USWNT camp.

In addition, the game will see last year’s top goal scorers Amy Rodriguez and Kim Little, 2024 and 2024 MVP’s Lauren Holiday and Little and season one and two Coach of the Year winners Vlatko Andonovski and Laura Harvey. Also, according to the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS), FC Kansas City and Seattle Reign FC are ranked #3 and #5 World’s Best Women’s Club.

Both teams are coming from losses on the road after the Blues fell 3-1 at the Maryland Soccerplex t o the Washington Spirit despite O’Reilly’s early goal, while the Reign lost 3-2 with a stoppage time tally from Chicago Red Stars’ Christen Press on Saturday.

In regular season meetings all-time, FC Kansas City holds the advantage with a 4-1-2 record. In 2024, the Blues defeated the Reign in all four match-ups, shutting Seattle out in each match. In 2024, the runner-ups won their first match against Kansas City at home on May 14. Both teams would tie twice more last season before meeting in the NWSL Championship game.

In their home opener, Rapinoe scored her first-ever NWSL career hat trick against the WNY Flash, which earned her Week 1 Player of the Week honors. On the other side, the Blues’ only goal of the season came last Saturday when O’Reilly chipped a ball from Holiday in the sixth minute against the Spirit.

Following this match, Andonovski’s team will hit the road when they visit the Houston Dash and the Western NY Flash before coming back home on Thursday, May 14.
