RECAP: Shea Groom leads FC Kansas City with brace in victory against Nebraska

LINCOLN, NEB. (April 3, 2024) — Liberty native Shea Groom’s second brace of the preseason led FC Kansas City to a 4-0 victory against the University of Nebraska in exhibition play on Sunday afternoon.

Frances Silva scored the Blues’ first goal in the 14th minute and Groom followed with her first in the 32nd. Amanda Frisbie pushed the lead to 3-0 before the half and Groom added another goal midway through the second.

Groom now leads the team with four goals in the preseason and the defense has recorded three shutouts in four games. The Blues have allowed just one goal.
