FC KANSAS CITY ANNOUNCES 2024 SEASON OPENING ROSTER

KANSAS CITY (APRIL 11, 2024) — FC Kansas City announced its regular season roster today with 19 players.

The two-time defending National Women’s Soccer League champions bring back two U.S. Women’s

National Team players in Becky Sauerbrunn and Heather O’Reilly.

The Blues also signed all four draft picks with Katie Bowen, Brianne Reed, Alex Arlitt and Alexa Newfield.

The team still holds the contracts of Amy Rodriguez and Sydney Leroux, but they will miss the season due to pregnancy.

 

ROSTERED PLAYERS (19 of 20 spots filled).

GOALKEEPERS (2): Nicole Barnhart, Katelyn Rowland.

DEFENDERS (6): Becky Sauerburnn (FP-USA), Brittany Taylor, Amanda Frisbie, Katie Bowen (INT’L-NZL), Brianne Reed*, Alex Arlitt.

MIDFIELDERS (8): Alexa Newfield, Desiree Scott (FP-CAN), Heather O’Reilly (FP-USA), Jen Buczkowski, Mandy Laddish, Yael Averbuch, Erika Tymrak, Frances Silva.

FORWARDS (3): Shea Groom, Caroline Kastor, Tiffany McCarty.

FC Kansas City starts the regular season at 7:30 on April 16 at Children’s Mercy Park against the Western New York Flash.
