Blues Open at Home April 12th

Prairie Village, Kansas (February 7, 2014) – The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) announced today the full slate of games for the 2014 regular season. For the second straight year, FC Kansas City will be one of the teams to open up the league’s schedule. The ‘Blues’ will host Sky Blue FC on April 12th at 7:00p.m. CT on their new home field, Verizon Wireless Field at Durwood Stadium.

With the inclusion of the Houston Dash, there are nine teams in the NWSL this season. FC Kansas City fans will be able to see each one, as every team is scheduled to play at least one game in Kansas City. Sky Blue FC, the Chicago Red Stars, Boston Breakers and Seattle Reign FC will each make two visits to UMKC’s Durwood Stadium.

After opening at home, FC Kansas City will visit each coast in consecutive weekends, including a rematch of the 2013 NWSL Semi-Final game against Portland Thorns FC on April 26th, this time at Jeld-Wen Field in Portland, Oregon.

FC Kansas City will play twelve regular season home games. The Blues are currently offering season tickets under $150 until February 14, 2014, with single-game and group tickets going on sale February 28, 2014 at 10a.m. CT.  Fans can reserve their tickets by calling 855.4KC.GOAL (855.452.4625).
