Blues will visit the Nebraska Cornhuskers on March 15th 

PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Ks. (March 9, 2015) – FC Kansas City will open the 2015 preseason today at the Overland Park Soccer Complex at 1:30 p.m. CT where they will be completing their testing after the annual introductory meeting, which took place this morning.

The 28-player roster includes Becky Sauerbrunn, Lauren Holiday, Heather O’Reilly and Amy Rodriguez who are currently in Portugal with the U.S. Women’s National Team. In addition, Kate Deines will join the team after her loan with German side FCC Turbine Potsdam is done.

Also, goalkeeper and college draft pick Kaitlyn Rowland will join the team after completing academic requirements at UCLA.

Including the allocated players, the roster features 12 returnees from last year’s season in addition to the acquisitions of Becca Moros from Portland, Yael Averbuch from the Washington Spirit, Deines from Seattle and USWNT veteran Heather O’Reilly from the Boston Breakers.

College draftees Jessie Ayers (Colorado College), Kaysie Clark (Mizzou), Shea Groom and Meghan Lisenby (Texas A&M) have already reported and will join the camp today.

Before hosting Sky Blue FC for the home opener at Sporting Park on April 12th, head coach Vlatko Andonovski’s team will visit the Nebraska Cornhuskers on March 15th and the Kansas Jayhawks on March 31st.
