KANSAS CITY (Feb. 27, 2024) – FC Kansas City (FCKC) agreed to terms on a new contract with Yael Averbuch through the 2024 season. Per team and league policies, specific terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Joining the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) in 2024, Averbuch has been a consistent player who can perform at a high level from nearly any spot on the field.

Averbuch originally signed with the Blues prior to the 2024 season. She played in eighteen games that season, plus the two postseason games leading to the team being crowned NWSL Champions. Last season she started all 20 games for FCKC, scoring three goals and an assist along the way.

“I couldn't be more excited to be back with FCKC next season! The past 2 years in Kansas City have been some of the most enjoyable of my professional career and I'm grateful to be part of this team and organization,” said Averbuch.

“Yael is an incredible player and person,” said head coach Vlatko Andonovski. “Working with her is an absolute pleasure. Her passion and professionalism on and off the field is what makes her a ‘must have player’.”

Averbuch and the rest of her FC Kansas City teammates will report for preseason training in the next couple of weeks. The team opens against the Boston Breakers at Swope Park Soccer Village on Sunday, August 16th at 5:00 p.m. CT. 2024 Season Tickets are on sale and can be purchased by calling 913-335-6146.
