KANSAS CITY, Mo. (August 26, 2024) – FC Kansas City (8-6-4, 28 points) will play its last home regular season game of the year this Thursday when the Blues host the Washington Spirit (8-5-4, 28 points) at Swope Soccer Village at 7:00 p.m. CT. Tickets can be purchased at fckansascity.com or the box office on game day.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early as FC Kansas City will be honoring the career of Lauren Holiday, who announced her retirement shortly after helping the U.S. Women’s National Team win its third FIFA World Cup championship in a pregame ceremony. In addition, any fan who donates to CHD Babies will automatically be entered into a drawing to win signed memorabilia such as a team-signed jersey and USWNT signed World Cup book.

Kansas City and the Spirit will meet for the third and final time this season. On April 18, the Blues fell 3-1 at the Maryland SoccerPlex, despite Heather O’Reilly’s first goal of the season in the first minutes of play. However, FCKC shutout Washington 3-0 at home on July 3 with goals from Yael Averbuch, Shea Groom and Liz Bogus. The All-time series are tied 3-3-1.

The Blues enter the match with a playoff spot already secured after last weekend’s results, while Coach Mark Parsons’ team could clinch with a tie or a win. Kansas City will now seek to finish second to host the semifinal.

With two games left in the regular season, goalkeeper Nicole Barnhart leads the league with seven clean sheets, while Washington’s Crystal Dunn leads with 13 goals and has been named Player of the Week in five occasions.

Amy Rodriguez leads the Blues with four goals and three assists in nine games. Last Saturday, she was named Player of the Game with a brace and an assist on Holiday.

The match will be streamed live on YouTube and can also be followed on Twitter at @BluesGameday. Season Tickets for the 2024 season are available, call 855-4KC-GOAL and receive 20% off before August 31st.
