FC KANSAS CITY SIGNS ITS FIRST AFFILIATE CLUB
Out of Sioux Falls, SD, Dakota Alliance Soccer Club became the team’s first affiliate
KANSAS CITY (Jan. 20, 2016) – FC Kansas City announced today that the team has signed Dakota Alliance Soccer Club (DASC) as its first affiliate club in an effort to become the leading resource for female youth soccer in the region.
The Affiliate Program is one of the first strictly female development programs in the area by scouting clubs that have a history of player development, good club infrastructure and aligned with the team’s core values.
The program includes mentoring from FIFA Women’s World Cup veterans as well as National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) players. In addition, youth players and coaches have access to affiliate camps with FC Kansas City staff, coaching workshops, chalk talks, seminars, round table discussions and guest speakers.
“Dakota Alliance Soccer Club met all the qualifications necessary and we are really excited to have them on board,” Affiliate Coordinator Jake Edwards said. “You couldn’t ask for a better club to kick off the Affiliate Program with as they are perennial contenders in the South Dakota State Cup.”
DASC provides opportunities to all boys and girls four years old to 19 years of age. It is a result of a merger between the region’s oldest and largest soccer clubs – Dakota Gold Soccer Club and Sioux Falls Soccer Association. They are also already affiliated with English Premier Clun West Ham United, and now add FC Kansas City to help with their female players.
